Looking for a roofer in Central Coast? These are the ten local roofers with the strongest Google reviews. We ranked them on their rating and on how many reviews back it up.

Why it counts. A perfect score from a few reviews is a start. A strong score from a hundred is a track record. Our order gives the track record more weight.

Our view. The scores are close, and review counts run from 28 to 206. Two of the ten hold a licence we could match on the NSW register, so ask the rest for their number before they start.
What kind of roof work do you need?
A leak after a storm on the Central Coast is usually a roof repair: a cracked tile, a lifted sheet, a worn flashing or a blocked valley.
A roof restoration suits a tile or metal roof that is ageing but sound, and usually means cleaning, re-pointing the ridge caps and a protective coating. A full replacement is for a roof that has failed across most of its surface.
Ask each roofer which of the three they recommend and to back it with photos from the roof. A good roofer will also tell you when a repair is enough.
Gutter cleaning and gutter repairs are worth doing in the same visit.
Blocked gutters can push water back under the roof edge, and one call-out costs less than two. If you live close to the beach, ask which metal roofing finish the roofer suggests for salt air.

Licences for roofing work
In NSW, roof plumbing, roof tiling and roof slating are each a separate licence category for residential jobs worth more than $5,000 (NSW Government, categories of work). Check that the licence on the register covers your roof type before you sign.
The catch. Coatings and restorations are sold hard. Ask for photos that show why your roof needs one, and a second quote if the price is high.
Check the licence before you pay anything
The NSW Government's free check shows whether a licence is current and what work it covers.
SafeWork NSW says falls from heights are the number one cause of death on NSW construction sites, and that the most serious falls are from roofs, ladders and scaffolds, often from under 4 metres (SafeWork NSW, roof edge protection). Ask what edge protection the roofer will use on your job and whether it is in the price.
What to do next. Shortlist three roofers from the list, check each licence, then compare written quotes.
